Nonverbal communication goes far. From the video, it shows so much. The look he gave on the test was something I would always give. We automatically know that he does not know anything from the exam. The ending of the video, it said that it had another sheet of paper. His reaction was "Oh My God! I am stupid!" Verbal communication goes a long way, nonverbal beats it by a long shot.
Marcos, I like the comments that you have made. In a way I wouldn't say that non-verbal beats verbal because I feel like they share the same weight.
That part was funny when the man threw his paper away.
I agree Marcos, non-verbal communication can go a long way. We can usually communicate more through our actions because "actions speak louder than words".
Sometimes people do whatever they can to cheat. But it didn't always work for them.
I really like your comment. It shows that you watched the video and that you have a slight interest in it as well.
Yeah nonverbal really does go far beyond verbal communication.
Non verbal communication is a great tool, and we still use it to this day. We use it in our military, and in ASL.
Marcos, I also do the same on test. And I agree with you where you said non verbal cummincation can go far.
With the expressions used him in the video it shows us we can make honest clear responses without having to say it.
Nonverbal communication can take you very far! Most people are able to successfully read other people's body language which can be very helpful! It's an important skill to have!
I completely agree with everything your saying. You're speaking truth.
Nonverbal communication is extremely important, because there can be times when you are not allowed to speak as shown in the video. Although he did not speak, we could tell exactly what he was trying to say. His facial expressions explained how he felt better than words could. He clearly did not know any of the information on the test, and he was trying to get the answers from somebody else. The man sitting next to him was obviously frustrated that mr. bean was trying to copy off of him. He did not need words to express this, because it was clear when the man kept moving his paper out of mr. bean's view. At one point, he even slammed the paper onto the table because he was so irritated. This video has shown a real life situation where nonverbal communication can be seen. Many people have experienced this scenario at one point or another whether they are the person that needs the answers, or the annoyed person that doesn't want somebody to copy off of them.
Faith, your comment on the topic are wonderful, it doesn't take much to know when someone is not prepared for a test just by the way they react.
The man didn't know anything that what made it his eye got big he was shock.
I agree, sometimes actions can speak louder than words because there are moments where we don't know what to say. However our actions can express what we're feeling.
Much of what he was doing was pretty obvious, because he was trying to cheat in that kinda test environment.
Sill it was a funny video
In life non-verbal communication comes in different forms in this case of the video the non-verbal communication that was presented was the fact that he was not prepared for the test.As shown, he was trying to look off the other guy's paper by finding different ways to look off of the paper. Non-verbal communication does effect us in a lot of ways. It is also just as important as verbal communication in the sense that body language is a sense of non-verbal communication.
I also thought the same that we, the audience, weren't even shown the test but we could tell from Mr. Bean's actions that he did not know anything that was on the test as he didn't prepare for it.
Dylan, nonverbal communication does affect us in a lot of ways because we can use it as to show emotion and how we feel. It's not always that people need to talk with their mouths to know what we're saying.
Body language was very prominent in this video! The only time somebody was speaking was when the instructor told the class that the test needed to be turned it, but there was far more communication in the video than that. Although there wasn't verbal communication between Mr. Bean and the man sitting next to him, it was obvious that they were communicating.
Non- verbal communication is just like verbal communications but instead of talking, you used body language instead. You can express your feelings and emotions through non- verbal communication. For example if you're sick and not feeling well in class you might put your head down or have this pale icky look on your face or even make grunt noises. In the video you can very well tell Mr. Bean didn't know what to do on his test by seeing the confusion and cluelessness on his face. You could also see how annoyed the other guy got because he kept trying to move and cover his paper from Mr. Bean.
Its true nonverbal is the use of the body instead of words or sounds. Every expression has a meaning. Like you said, when you are not feeling well so you aly your head or look off.
We know that the didn't know any of the answers on the exam he was trying to look at the men's paper. He was also making face expressions while he was thinking the answers on the exam. Then the man next to him would put the paper next him and he would look at it or try to peak at the paper to get his answers.
The audience didn't even see the test. But with Mr. Bean's reaction, we can tell he didn't know nothing on the test.
He would've die almost anything to get the answers. Instead of doin it himself
This is true! He kept looking and trying to cheat to get the answers.
He obviously knew nothing of the test and needed major help.
We can clearly tell he knows none of the material on the test because we can see the panic in his facial expressions and the actions he takes.
You could tell by his expressions that he didn't know anything.
By watching this video i learned non-verbal communication is just as powerful as verbal communication. We can usually communicate what were feeling and thinking by our actions and facial expressions because they go a long way. For example, in the video it was pretty obvious Mr. Bean didn't know anything on the test even though he didn't say anything. Mr. Bean's actions transmitted that to the audience.
Giselle, you are right in the fact that nonverbal is just as important as verbal communication. I also agree that facial expressions can tell a lot about how someone feels about something or how much the do or don't know on a topic.
Giselle, I too drew the conclusion from the video that non verbal communication can be just as effective as verbal communication is.
Giselle I think your right on that non verbal communication is as strong as a regular comunnication.
Yes Giselle, like they say actions speak louder than words and we can clearly see that it's true while watching this video.
Yeah i agree actions speak louder than words
I learned that people do lots of things when they get nervous. They'll do almost anything to get the right answers on a test. The more time goes on the more nervous you may get.
I understand what you're saying, but that has nothing to do with non-verbal communication. I would have also explained how it is that he used non-verbal communication to get his way by cheating.
I do notice people get nervous and start tapping their feet. I'm just like that and will do tons of things to get a good test grade
By watching video I learned that just like verbal communication, non-verbal communication is just as important. You could tell that mr.bean knew nothing on the test. He kept looking at other papers and trying to catch a glimpse of the answers. Also he made numerous facial expressions that also showed that he had absolutely no idea what he was looking at!
Your right, verbal and non-verble communication are important if we didnt have these we wouldn't be able to express our self and how we're feeling.
Exactly, they are both super important and with Mr. Beans facial expressions you could easily tell what was happening in the story.
Nonverbal communication is very important because it can show more than words can in some circumstances. The scared or uncomfortable looks in the clip showed how unprepared he was for the test. Facial expressions and how someone presents themselves shows how they feel whether it be happy or sad.
Cade I agree that nonverbal communication can show more than words at times. Also, gestures do shown how someone is feeling even if they don't say anything.
Nonverbal communication can be just as important as verbal communication. Sometimes not speaking actually goes further than if you were to say something. Nonverbal communication like shown in the video can tell people a lot of things about you and how you react to different situations.
When some people present they do a lot of hand gestures that enhance their speech. In this we see that it is possible to communicate with someone and not even speak. So I agree that sometimes nonverbal communication can go farther than verbal.
Heather i have to agree with you, you can tell people a lot of things without speaking. Also i think nonverbal communication is like looking at someone and you can see by their facial expression weather they are hurting or happy.
From the video I learned that at times non verbal communication can say more than verbal communication does. From the video you can draw so many conclusions such as he didn't study for the test, he tried several times to cheat, he didn't even know there was a second part to the test, and he was extremely nervous. Many people throughout history have said that actions speak louder than words, and at times they do. Mr. Bean's actions tell us a lot about the kind of person he is even if you had no idea who he was prior to watching the video. The video can teach people how much you can learn from a person just by their actions and not even their words.
I just wanted to say that video was funny and that he tryed cheat in the best way possible. There was a lot of nonverbal communication from him and you can tell how he was feeing by his face expression. When he tried to cheat I noticed he used many hand jesters to get the guy to look away or to stop paying attention to him . Overall I still thought the video was entertaining.
Eric, I agree you could tell how he was feeling by his facial expression because of the way he was looking and his movement. I also agree that the video was entertaining! I thought it was humorous myself.
What I learn from the video was that movement can distract and get people's attention for example, in the video it showed that he was trying to copy but his movements caught him and distracted other people. Also what you can learn from non verbal communication is what a person is trying to do. Like when he was trying to copy the other person knew what he was doing.
The other person did know he was trying to cheat because technically he was still communicating. He was just not using actual words. And the other student responded back with his gestures.
From my point of view I think nonverbal communication is very important, because like my classmates mentioned there are times you can't to speak, for example this video. Even though the main character didn't talk at all, we could tell exactly what he was saying and the public understood the story. Everything he did and specially his facial expressions were explaining what was happening. He was trying to cheat since he knew nothing about the test. It was easy for the public to get an idea of the dilemma.
many can tell how another is feeling even without them speaking, through facial expressions and body language.
From the video, nonverbal communication seems like a very vital/important thing to have. Mr. Bean spoke through his facial expressions, emotion, and movement. The way he acted without speaking could be fully understood. The video shows that he obviously didn't know anything on the test and was trying to cheat. Then, at the end he realized he knew what to do and had tried to rush the exam.
Yeah it really shows that you don't need to speak to be able to express your feelings. Nonverbal communication is a very important form of communication
The video shows how you have to talk to be able to communicate. You could tell when how Mr. Bean was feeling through the whole test. Facial expressions and hand gestures play a big part on this.
*Don't have to
His body expressions were extremely exaggerated too for the sake of the video. I believe this was to express some comedic relief.
The video demonstrates how powerful body language can be. You can tell exactly what's going on without any dialogue. Body language is an easily recognizable form of communication.
It really does. You can automatically tell what the situation is and how the other person feels about it.
Body language can be very powerful, no matter what u can tell if a person is upset or living the high life.
Body language is powerful I would agree. The degree of understanding was incredible even without a word.
You can go a long way with nonverbal speaking. Just watching this I knew exactly what was going happen in the story even though Mr.Bean didn't speak a word. Any kind of communication is important and will work to get your message across.
you are right, ,communication is so important. keep up the good work.
Non-verbal communication can tell you a lot. Especially if someone doesn't know anything about what they are doing, just like in the video. It "speaks" a lot about how well you're prepared.
It can tell a story on its own. Non verbal communication is almost as useful as verbal communication if not more than.
From the video it shows so much about nonverbal communication. Like in the beginning you could tell he had no idea about what was on the test. When I was younger this was an expression I did a lot
non verbal communication is so important. the video really shows the importance of body language and facial expressions. you can go a long way without even speaking a word.
In life non-verbal communication comes in different forms. As shown, he was trying to look off the other guy's paper by finding different ways to look off of the paper. It is also just as important as verbal communication in the sense that body language.
non- verbal comes in a lot of ways and in the video the guy is trying to look off the paper. non-verbal communication can be shown in many other ways too.
Not a single word was said by Mr.Bean with the exception of "mommy". Even with no words by him he managed to create laughter from the audience multiple times. It really is a wonder on how just your body language and facial expressions alone can create such a reaction from a crowd. Mastering this could allow you to dominate any conversation without saying a word.
Tristen i agree that your body language does create a reaction from the crowd. Without saying anything you can still have a conversation.
what i learned about non verbal communication is just by using facial expressions and actions it can create the mood like if you're acting serious or sad or funny like in the clip he mad people laugh, people will react based upon how you're acting.
